I was a volunteer mentor in 2006-2007 in Cedar City, Utah where I worked with an eighth-grade girl. I talked with her about her problems and helped her with her homework. I also taught children and young adults swimming lessons for five years during high school and early college years. My ACT score was 19. I am working on a America-Corp Scholarship volunteer hours where I serve in Historic and Archaeology Labs. I have also completed all my general education classes and I believe that I could sufficiently tutor many different subjects. I want to be a tutor because I think it would be a good experience to work in a professional environment with students who are ready to learn. I also want to give back because I found the tutors when I was in High School very encouraging.
