Education

I am currently a freshman studying Psychology at Southern Utah University.

Experience

I tutored a family friend for about a year in elementary math. She made a ton of progress over the course of our sessions. It was incredibly gratifying to see the difference my help was making and the amount of progress she could make with just a little help. I took the ACT my junior year in high school and scored an overall 28 with near perfect scores in English and Reading. I took it again at the beginning of my senior year and scored a 29. I have always scored well above average on standardized tests such as the UBSCT and CRT. In high school I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to enroll in Concurrent Enrollment classes. I took full advantage and as a result I began my college career with 34 credits under my belt already. I never recieved below a 3.5 GPA on a college or high school transcript in all three years I was enrolled in upper level courses. I have studied a wide variety of subjects including math, science, english, psychology, and art. I will admit that math was never my strong suit however my dad, a math teacher, has helped immensely and has given me many priceless tips on how to understand key concepts and acheive good scores in math courses. Because of my dedication to my schoolwork, I received a full ride academic scholarship to Southern Utah University. I take my schoolwork very seriously and take pride in all that I do. I try to experience new things any chance I have. I'm a firm believer in the notion of living life to the fullest. My favorite quote is, "Enjoy this moment because it is your life." I've witnessed how fragile life is and I've come to believe whole-heartedly in doing my very best and giving 110% in everything I do because there's no "do-over" for life. I hope that I can share this feeling with as many people as possible.

Hobbies

Hobbies and interests? I love music and everything associated with it. I play guitar and piano and love to sing. I've found memorizing things to certain tunes very helpful and try to utilize this tecnique whenever applicable. I love reading. I've been known to read up to 14 or 15 books in a single month. I attribute my academic success to my love of reading. I believe it is one of the most fundamental and life-changing skills you can acquire. Travel is a huge part of my life. My step-mom has instilled in me a love of culture and the world that has made me a different person. I have had the pleasure of visiting many of the major cities in the US and I hope to soon begin venturing out into the world. I love meeting and learning about people and what makes them tick. I've become very open-minded and accepting as a result of my travels. I love art, particularly photography. I love the idea that you can capture any moment you would like and immortalize it in a picture, painting, or movie.
