Experience

I was a math tutor in high school, as well as a peer tutor for children in the Special Needs program. I scored a 28 on the ACT the first time I took it, and was the highest score in my school for Biology assessments. I received the "Outstanding Spanish Student" award as a Freshman in high school, and was placed in the 93rd percentile for the ASVAB military placement test. I was simultaneously enrolled in high school and Mountainland Applied Technology College for a Medical Assisting course, and graduated from both with high marks. I have also achieved proficiency levels in Biology, Medical Anatomy, Family and Consumer Science, English, and Spanish. I want to be a tutor because I feel that it is important to make sure everybody gets the academic attention that they deserve. There were classes that I just didn't understand (chemistry, for example) that I would become so frustrated about, and so I understand feeling lost. Luckily, I had a fantastic teacher who took the time to answer my questions and help me through the parts that I didn't understand. I believe that everybody has the ability to do well in school, as long as somebody takes the time to help them be the best that they can.

Throughout my schooling experience, I have been involved with many organizations, including Student Council, Leadership Team, Choirs, Art Club, and FCCLA. I also participated in sports, running cross country and playing golf for the high school teams. I am always very involved in my church organizations, and have received awards for service in my church.
