I am a Sophomore Elementary Education Major at Southern Utah University. West Jordan High School class of 2011, graduated with an enhanced diploma.
Experience
I recieved a 27 on the ACT my first time through without studying or having a calculator. I recieved a 3 on the AP U.S. History test and a 4 on the AP English Lang/Comp test. My high school GPA was a 3.897/4.0 and my college GPA is a 3.8/4.0. I have wanted to be a teacher basically my entire life. I love to help others understand something. Since I was little I have been helping out my friends and classmates with assignments inside and outside of class. I am currently taking multiple classes on teaching methods and how to connect to different students. A recently took Education psychology which helped me understand the different ways that children of all ages learn and how their backgrounds and life experiences effect their learning. I love to find a new and different way to explain something to someone. I hate how some teachers think there is only one way to learn something. Everyone learns in a different way and I love to work to understand different peoples learning styles and how I can explain something to them based on their learning style. I volunteer regularly at North Elementary school with their 4H mentoring program where I go and work with kids ages 3rd through 5th grade. My father is a High school tennis and basketball coach and when I am home I regually go and help him out with his teams in practice and games.
